Prerequisite
Familiarizes Health Systems students with ongoing faculty and their areas of research and provides a forum for discussion for current topics in health systems and international health. Covers topics that emphasize skills in the modern workplace including effective teamwork, conflict resolution, and dealing with complexity in health systems. Prepares students to enter the workforce including job hunting, interviewing tips, and perspectives from employers and alumni.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Identify Health Systems Program faculty and staff who can be mentors and informal advisors during their course of study
- Apply negotiation & mediation skills to address organizational or community challenges
- Integrate perspectives from other sectors and/or professions to promote and advance population health

This course is evaluated as follows:
- 40% Participation
- 60% Group Presentation
