Introduces economics of the business enterprise, the household, and the industry. Includes topics: supply and demand, price and income elasticity, equilibrium of the firm, and the measurement of poverty and inequality
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Outline and explain the concepts of supply and demand in economics
- Discuss the concept of economic equilibrium and their applications in economic analysis
- Discuss the basic concepts of expected utility theory
- Discuss the basic concepts of production theory
- Explain the observed trends in poverty and the labor market in the United States
