introduction to health and human rights and required for the human rights certificate.
Establishes mutual knowledge and shared beliefs for human rights researchers through the presentations and discussions of ongoing efforts in the Center for Public Health and Human Rights.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. Describe key linkages between Human Rights and public health
  2. Differentiate the vital roles of health professionals in promoting human rights, advocating for the protection of human rights, researching violations, and building a culture of human rights
  3. Describe current cutting-edge research in health and human rights and the methods used to carry it out.
  4. Review how public health professionals can bring epidemiology and other methods of public health to investigate, analyze, and document abuses of human rights
