Description
Project-based course develops research stages to deployment of software design and development. Addresses interviews with stakeholders, applying creative decision-making techniques to prioritizing project features, creating a software deployment plan, and more. Draws from real-world case studies exploring software in healthcare and provides an applied understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. Articulate how to do design to deployment of a healthcare software system from start to finish
  2. Promote stakeholder engagement in healthcare technology development .
  3. Integrate user-centered design into the process of software development
  4. Employ user-centered interviewing techniques to gain insight that can guide software development
  5. Apply synthesis and ideation techniques relevant to design thinking in healthcare
  6. Design the basic components of healthcare user interface
  7. Compile requirements for a healthcare related software project
  8. Compare different approaches to software development and project management in health IT
  9. Develop the main components of a software deployment plan
