Previous exposure to hypothesis testing and statistical modeling

For those who have little to no familiarity with the R programming language and want to learn more about how to use R to import, wrangle, analyze, and visualize data.
Provides “hands-on” training for analyzing data in the R statistical software package, a popular open-source solution for data analysis and visualization. Covers data input/output, data management and manipulation, and constructing useful and informative graphics. Geared towards individuals who have never used R or have a little familiarity.
- Learning Objectives:

Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Read multiple data formats into R
- Recode and manipulate data
- Write custom R functions and use add-on packages
- Make exploratory and customizable plots
- Perform, interpret, and visualize basic statistical tests
- Use basic “programming” syntax
- Methods of Assessment:
This course is evaluated as follows:
- 20% Participation
- 45% Assignments
- 35% Final Project
