Introduces students to social science concepts in public health and to ongoing social factors research at JHSPH. Introduces students to key concepts and tools necessary to successfully complete the MHS in Social Factors in Health degree program.

Learning Objectives:

Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the relevance of social science concepts for public health
  2. Identify examples of social factors in public health research
  3. Describe the steps involved in completing the MHS in Social Factors in Health degree program
