Description
This course strengthens critical reasoning skills that are widely used in bioethics research and practice, including identifying arguments, mapping those arguments, critically assessing those arguments, and critical writing.
This course builds on Critical Thinking in Bioethics Scholarship 1. It builds on student training in argument mapping, identifying common strengths and weaknesses of arguments and evaluating arguments, formulating good arguments and expressing them in text, and writing critical essays.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. 1.Extract arguments from written texts and visually map those arguments 2.Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of arguments3.Formulate good arguments and express them in text 4.Write a critical essay.

This course is evaluated as follows:
  • 80% Assignments
