Description:

Discusses synthesis of macromolecules, the genetic code, regulation of gene expression and gene function, and recent advances in biotechnology.

Learning Objectives:

Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the molecular mechanisms underlying the central dogma
  2. Describe genome structure and gene regulation
Methods of Assessment:

Student evaluation based on three exams (each 33% of the grade)

Enrollment Restriction:

Required for all BMB students. Priority registration given to JHSPH students. CANNOT take this course if already enrolled or completed 120.604.81 Introduction to Molecular Biology
