Description
Attended by both students and faculty, this seminar series is an opportunity for the Department to come together once a week and provides a broader perspective on contemporary issues in epidemiology and its research. As a student, you directly benefit from attendance at these seminars through exposure to cutting-edge, ongoing research, which helps you to develop and refine your own research questions, prepare for the Departmental comprehensive exam (end of Year 1), and engage with faculty and your colleagues.
Attended by staff. students and faculty, this seminar series is an opportunity for the Department of Epidemiology to come together once a week. Provides a broader perspective on contemporary issues in epidemiology and its research. Students directly benefit from attendance at these seminars through exposure to cutting-edge, ongoing research, which helps to develop and refine research questions, prepare for the Epidemiology Departmental comprehensive exam (end of Year 1), and engage with staff, faculty, peers, and colleagues. Provides presentations of current research in the field of epidemiology, and offers an opportunity for discussion and clarification of epidemiologic methods as applied in research settings.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. Discuss current epidemiologic research being conducted by or in collaboration with the JHSPH Department of Epidemiology
  2. Interact with Department faculty and epidemiologic researchers
  3. Discuss topics related to professional development as an epidemiologist
