Uses a case study approach of a selected risk-based public health issue to integrate student’s application of the skills in the risk sciences (risk assessment, risk management, and risk communication).
- Learning Objectives:
- Identify and critically assess key science and policy issues involved in the application of the risk sciences to public health policy decision-making.
- Explain strengths and limitations of risk assessment approaches
- Identify appropriate risk assessment methods for chemical hazards in air, water, and food
- Methods of Assessment:
Participation in discussions (25%), attendance (25%), written assignments (50%)
