Acquaints MHS students with basic research in the biomedical sciences through work under the guidance of a faculty member in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and provides an introduction to hands-on experience in laboratory research.
- Learning Objectives:
- Identify a research question of significance in biomedical science
- Design hypothesis-driven or discovery-driven experimental studies to address the question
- Maintain research notes, including summaries of results and data interpretation
- Methods of Assessment:
Meet expectations for time commitments to research (minimum 9-10 hr/week) 50%, Maintain appropriate research notes (including research plan and hypothesis) 50%.
