Attended by both students and faculty, this seminar series is an opportunity for the Department to come together once a week and provides a broader perspective on contemporary issues in epidemiology and its research. As a student, you directly benefit from attendance at these seminars through exposure to cutting-edge, ongoing research, which helps you to develop and refine your own research questions, prepare for the Departmental comprehensive exam (end of Year 1), and engage with faculty and your colleagues.

Provides an overview of current research in the Department and in the field of epidemiology, and offers an opportunity for discussion and clarification of epidemiologic methods as applied in research settings.

Learning Objectives:

Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

  1. Discuss current epidemiologic research being conducted by or in collaboration with the JHSPH Department of Epidemiology
  2. Interact with Department faculty and epidemiologic researchers
  3. Discuss topics related to professional development as an epidemiologist
