Description
Introduces modern statistical theory, including likelihood functions; minimal sufficiency; exponential families; theory estimation, theory of optimal tests, and confidence intervals; robustness; and decision theory.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. discuss classical theory/methods for drawing statistical inference
  2. Discuss the statistical reasoning and theoretical justification behind two main streams in inference: hypothesis testing and estimation (point and interval)
