Global Alumni Network Advisory Council

JHSPH has catalyzed every aspect of my experiences in the field of public health. From an undergraduate advocacy seminar to policy discussions with fellow MPHers to valued insight from DrPH faculty advisors, I'm a Hopkins public health lifer! One of the cornerstones of my Hopkins public health experience has been to serve on the Advisory Council for the JHSPH Global Alumni Network (GAN). Our alumni network represents the cutting edge of public health leadership around the world, and the GAN Advisory Council strives to amplify that impact by strengthening the engagement of alumni with each other and the School.

18 months ago, the Advisory Council set out to develop a strategic plan for alumni engagement, gathering input from many of you along the way. Three key needs were articulated by our alumni: 1) enhancing alumni connections and ties to one another, particularly at a local/regional level; 2) providing life-long public health learning and leadership opportunities; 3) diversifying the ways for alumni to re-engage with the School's students, faculty, and fellow alumni.

Much of this is already underway, and we are eager to learn from you what is working best in terms of the alumni programming and outreach you've seen to date. I and other members of the Advisory Council would also love to hear your thoughts, questions, and suggestions for turning the goals above into a reality, so please reach out to us at and stay tuned for more to come!
