The MHS in Global Health Economics is a 9-month program offered by the Department of International Health. This program is ideal for those who are interested in examining key global issues—such as migration, displaced persons, climate change, vaccine access, injuries, chronic conditions, obesity and pandemic—through an economic lens. This program is ideal for those interested in mastering the skills of evaluation methods necessary to promote the efficient and equitable allocation of healthcare resources—such as modeling the value of healthcare technologies to individuals and society, identifying important clinical, patient, and provider outcomes, and more. The MHS in Health Economics and Outcomes Research is a 9-month program offered by the Department of Health Policy and Management.

PhD training in Health Economics

PhD training in Health Economics is available via three unique doctoral programs: the PhD in Health Policy and Management- Health Economics and Policy, the PhD in International Health- Health Systems, and the PhD in Population, Family and Reproductive Health. Faculty from Health Policy and ManagementInternational Health, and Population, Family and Reproductive Health all participate in the interdepartmental program in health economics. Doctoral and masters level graduate students already at Johns Hopkins University can apply. Students from outside can also enroll after applying for special student status.
