Enhance cross-sector collaborations
Enhance our cross-sector collaborations and systems-level assessments and actions to improve health and advance equity and social justice.
We are working to enhance our cross-sector collaborations and systems-level assessments and actions, in an effort to improve health and advance equity and social justice. Through investment of start-up funding, we will support faculty, students, and staff efforts that engage sectors outside the traditional boundaries of public health, such as education, housing, transportation, and humanitarian assistance, to accomplish key goals for the health of all people. This will include developing a mechanism to fund consulting projects in which students and faculty will support local leaders, elected officials, and agency representatives on defined projects, such as conducting needs assessments, community-engagement and collective-impact projects, or policy proposals.

- Through the Bloomberg American Health Initiative, six faculty have consulted with public sector agencies. This support has been announced for 2019-2020 as well. The Urban Health Institute has announced a similar program to support faculty work in Baltimore.
