Mission Statement for Baltimore

The Office of the Administrative Dean has a broad range of financial and logistical responsibilities at the school, from budgeting to facilities maintenance. The Office aims to support career skills and career tracks for individuals in Baltimore.

Baltimore Highlights

Year Up Interns

YearUp LogoYear Up is a not-for-profit organization that provides low-income young adults the opportunity to earn college credits while also procuring hands-on skills through corporate internships. Since 2013, Information Technology has helped five interns graduate from the Year Up Internship program. The interns sponsored by IT spend their time learning both help desk and multimedia skills.

International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2

ISC2The (ISC)2 Baltimore Chapter is dedicated to the advancement of the information system security profession by offering educational sessions and acting as a conduit for connecting information system security professionals with each other for collaboration and research and with the local community through charity and awareness initiatives. JP Garvin, as a member of the (ISC)2, organizes outreach activities for the Baltimore community. The most recent event was the “National Night Out” effort held August 4th.

Office of the Administrative Dean Baltimore Project: Introduction to Technology Support

Starting in the fall 2016, the Office intends to promote careers in IT to Baltimore CIty middle school students.  For the fall event, these are the areas within the IT profession will be introduced to the children:

In addition, the Office is offering consulting and training services to the staff of community organizations, so they can be better equipped to help the community. Examples of areas for our assistance include helping to establish online volunteer management programs and assisting with the securing of sensitive client data.
