Key Commitments

The Bloomberg School is dedicated to improving the world—starting with its own community.

We strive to protect the health and well-being of our students, faculty and staff, and foster an environment where everyone feels respected and valued.  We're moving our mission forward alongside key commitments to our community, on campus, and to Baltimore.

To Our Bloomberg School Community

For our community, we are committed to an inclusive and equitable climate, with equal access and opportunity. Our Inclusion, Diversity, Anti-Racism, and Equity (IDARE) efforts seek to foster a diverse, inclusive, and nurturing environment for students, faculty, and staff where all individuals can thrive.

Our mix of onsite and online offerings provide access to our education and extracurricular opportunities from anywhere in the world.

On Campus

On our campus, we are committed to programs that promote healthful, responsible living, and sponsor programs that speak to the ideals embedded in our academics, research, and operations. These include our commitments to a tobacco-free campus and sustainability.

Major projects are underway to enhance and expand our physical campus spaces, including a new building scheduled to be completed in late 2026.

To Baltimore

We have a special commitment to our home community of Baltimore as articulated in our strategic plan.

This commitment to improving the health and well-being of Baltimore includes partnering with city and community members and leaders to identify and address the pressing health needs of our East Baltimore community, engaging in a range of meaningful and sustained collaborations with local communities and organizations, making research results and data sets about Baltimore publicly available whenever possible, and working with community members to explore solutions to our shared public health challenges.
