Forum on New JHU Public Safety Initiative

Published

March 27, Noon to 2 pm

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to invite you to a forum for Bloomberg School of Public Health faculty, students and staff about the possibility of adding a Johns Hopkins University police department to the current campus security program announced last week by University leadership. The forum will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from Noon to 2:00 pm in Sommer Hall and will also be offered via live webcast.

As I mentioned in my message to the School community last week, this potential effort is in its early stage and it is critically important that we get your feedback. This open forum will be an opportunity for you to discuss your questions, concerns or ideas with the following session participants:

George Economas, Interim Vice President for Corporate Security, JHU/JHM
Jeanne Hitchcock, Special Advisor on Local Government, Community and Corporate Affairs, JHU
Ellen MacKenzie, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor and Dean, JHSPH
Laura Morlock, Executive Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, JHSPH
Jane Schlegel, Executive Vice Dean for Finance and Administration, JHSPH
Michael Ward, Associate Dean for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, JHSPH
Daniel Webster, Bloomberg Professor of American Health and Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research

Your feedback is also welcome at any time on the Campus Safety and Security website.

I hope you will be able to join us at this important forum on March 27.

My very best,

Ellen MacKenzie Signature
