Welch Center Core Faculty member Elizabeth Selvin, PhD, MPH, is first-named author of an article appearing in the March 4, 2010 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine. The study compares the prognostic value of glycated hemoglobin and fasting glucose in identifying adults who are at long-term risk for diabetes or cardiovascular disease. The study is entitled "Glycated Hemoglobin, Diabetes, and Cardiovascular Risk in Nondiabetic Adults". Among Dr. Selvin’s co-authors are two more Welch Center Core Faculty members, Dr. Josef Coresh and Dr. Fred Brancati, as well as Welch Center trainees Dr. Kunihiro Matsushita and PhD candidate Hong Zhu.
