Drs. Neil Powe and Fred Brancati Receive Diversity Recognition Awards

Dr. PoweBoth departing Director of the Welch Center, Neil Powe, MD, MPH, MBA, (above right) and GIM Director and Welch Center Interim Director, Fred Brancati, MD, MHS (below right), are 2009 recipients of the JHU Diversity Recognition Awards. The awards have been granted annually to members of the Hopkins community since 2003 by the University’s Diversity Leadership Council.  According to the Council, “The purpose of the Award is to acknowledge outstanding accomplishments of faculty, staff and students whose demonstrable efforts foster greater appreciation, advancement and celebration of diversity and inclusiveness in the Johns Hopkins culture and environment.”

The awards ceremony will be held on May 12th, 12:00-2:00 PM, in Shriver Hall on the Homewood Campus, at which time JHU President Ronald Daniels will present the recipients with their Diversity Recognition Awards.
