Welch Center Core Faculty member Brad Astor, PhD, MPH, has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. Dr. Astor holds joint appointments in the Department of Epidemiology in the Bloomberg School of Public Health and in the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine in the School of Medicine. Dr. Astor's research focuses on the interaction between kidney disease and subclinical and clinical cardiovascular disease, and their impact on the population. His research utilizes cohort studies of individuals with kidney failure in an attempt to better understand the connection between kidney disease and cardiovascular disease in the population, and identify areas of intervention to minimize the burden of these diseases.
