An interview with Welch Center Director, Dr. Neil Powe was aired on the television program “On Time” on the CBS television affiliate WJZ Television Channel 13, on Sunday, October 26th. The Baltimore station’s Kai Jackson questioned Dr. Powe about the causes, symptoms and consequences of chronic kidney disease. Dr. Powe underlined the contributions of hypertension and diabetes to the development of kidney disease. Christine Snyder, Co-Chair of the Kidney Foundation of Maryland also appeared to explain the foundation’s role in community education and in support of persons who suffer with kidney disease and their families. The program gave Ms. Snyder the opportunity to publicize the 22nd “Gift of Life” Gala in support of the Kidney Foundation of Maryland, which will be held on November 22nd.
