Congratulations to the Welch Center's Dr. Felicia Hill-Briggs, and Dr. Hunter Young, both recipients of American Diabetes Association Innovation Awards. Dr. Hill-Briggs's award will fund an education project, Project DECIDE (Decision-making Education for Choices in Diabetes Every Day), and Dr. Young's project will use the signature of selection to find genes responsible for susceptibility to type 2 diabetes. Both awards will be funded starting July 1, 2006.
