There are a variety of ways in which community members, community-based organizations, faculty and students can get involved with the Urban Health Institute. For information on specific projects/activities, please contact Amy Gawad at agawad@jhsph.edu. Student Outreach Resource Center (SOURCE) provides academic, professional and personal development opportunities for the members of the JHU Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health through community outreach and service-learning partnerships with community-based organizations. The Center for Social Concern emphasizes the value of service with others, rather than the commonly accepted concept of service to others. The volunteer and client enter into an educational process of interaction and reciprocal learning. This relationship is the common ground for all of their initiatives. Through its programs and efforts, the Center is striving to create a better community in and around the Johns Hopkins campus. |
