Tuition and Fees Tropical Medicine and Public Health Institute participants may register for academic credit or non-credit (certificate of participation is awarded). Courses taken on a non-credit basis may not be retroactively converted to academic credit after the conclusion of the Institute. Where academic credit leading to a degree is desired, students are required to pay the standard School tuition of $815 (subject to change) per credit for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health degree. If a student enrolls in all four courses of the Tropical Medicine Summer Institute, their full time tuition rate would be $9,780 (subject to change). This rate does not apply to students taking courses for non-credit. The non-credit tuition rate is $1,450 per course, totalling $5,800 for the entire Institute. Tuition does not include room and board. Students are not required to purchase any textbooks for any of the four courses of this Institute. Instead, a course fee of $30 per course will be charged to each student for materials, which include printed copies of all reading materials and class lectures. After 16 credits have been earned, application to and acceptance in special student regular or degree status are required.
