The Application Process

Applications for the Summer Institute in Tropical Medicine and Public Health must be received by June 1, 2009. International students must submit their applications by May 1, 2009, because of extra time needed to process international visas.

Applications may be accepted after June 1; however, a $75 late fee will be charged. A $200 non-refundable deposit must be submitted with the application. Incomplete applications or those received without deposit will not be processed. The balance of tuition must be paid by the first day of the course.

Checks should be made payable to the Johns Hopkins University and must be made in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank. Any bank charges incurred for processing will be charged to the registrant. Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover payments are accepted.

JHU Tuition Remission

Students who are eligible to participate in the JHU Tuition Remission plan must provide the Tuition Remission Benefit Application in lieu of payment for tuition. Fees are not covered under the Tuition Remission Plan. If the remission does not cover the entire cost of tuition, a student is required to pay the remaining balance. Original remission forms and any additional payment due from the student must be submitted by the payment due date. It is the student's responsibility to understand and abide by the terms of the Tuition Remission Plan. To access the tuition remission form please visit the following website:
