General Information
The following group of applicants will be considered for this course: - Graduates of approved schools of medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine
- Graduates with a bachelor's or higher degree in such fields as nursing, engineering or one of the biological or social sciences
- A minimum of two years of full-time work experience in the fields of health, human services or another field related to public health is required of all applicants without a professional degree.
- Proficiency in the English language is required to participate in this Institute.
Tropical Medicine and Public Health Institute participants may register for academic credit or non-credit (certificate of participation is awarded). Each week-long module is worth four academic credits. Retroactive conversion from non-credit to credit or vice versa is not permitted for any course after the add/drop deadline. Students registered as special students limited may accumulate a maximum of 16 credits total during the Summer term. After 16 credits have been earned, application to and acceptance in special student regular or degree status is required. Johns Hopkins Master of Public Health candidates: credits from the Summer Institute in Tropical Medicine and Public Health may be applied towards the part-time MPH degree. |
