Public Health Career Fair — Student Tips

To have the best success:

  • Arrive early
  • Dress professionally
  • Research the organization(s) you plan to visit and prepare several questions
  • Bring several copies of your resume and business cards, and be able to communicate clearly your background and interests
  • On site: Introduce yourself to representatives, shake hands, and thank the representatives for coming
  • Obtain a business card from agency representatives in order to write a thank you letter within 24 hours of the event
  • Be enthusiastic!

Be sure to bring:

  • Briefcase or portfolio
  • A note pad
  • Pens
  • Several resumes
  • Business Cards
  • Toothbrush and dental floss if you are attending the Career Fair after lunch
  • For women:  Extra hosiery, and if you carry a briefcase, leave the purse behind to keep your hands free.
