Baltimore Week Happy Hour: Kickoff Baltimore Week with a special Baltimore-themed Happy Hour in conjunction with EHSSO's Green Happy Hour. Baltimore-based beverages and snacks will be provided. Happy Hour begins at 4:30 pm in front of the Student Lounge in JHSPH (615 N Wolfe St.) Co-sponsored with the Insoluble Fraction, Student Assembly, and EHSSO.

Responding to Violence in Schools Before it Starts: What's Going on in Baltimore 12:15-1:15 pm, JHSPH W3030 Come learn more about past, present, and future initiatives addressing the epidemic of violence in urban schools presented by Dr. Phil Leaf and co-sponsored by JHSPH Child Health Society. Lunch will be provided.
History of the School of Public Health and Baltimore 12:15-1:15 pm, JHSPH Sheldon Hall Join us as Dr. Graham Mooney discusses the history of public health in the City of Baltimore. Reception lunch to follow in the Courtyard. Co-sponsored by JHSPH Student Assembly. Bringing the Joy of Art to Public Health Community Settings 12:30-1:30 pm, JHSPH W2017 Stephanie Penn from Art with A Heart will present some of their work and experience in bringing art to the community to include hospitals, shelters, senior centers and share ways students can get involved. Co-sponsored by the SON Black Students Nurses Association.
Protecting Baltimore's Harbor: A Visit to Ft. McHenry, 12:00-4:00 pm
In keeping with the theme of Baltimore Weeks’ theme of past, present and future, this trip will highlight the critical role Fort McHenry played in protecting Baltimore’s harbor through its critical role in naval defense from the War of 1812, to its present role as a National Monument and Historic Shrine maintained by the National Park Service, who preserves this site and nearby wetlands for education and enjoyment of future generations Registration is required and is open to students only.
