As part of SOURCE's full Governing Board, students from each of our 3 Schools (Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health) are selected to serve on our board. Students give vital feedback regarding meetings, activities and events that SOURCE sponsors and co-sponsors. SOURCE's Student Governing Board works to increase the visibility of community engagement and service-learning on the medical campus by encouraging other students to utilize SOURCE and its resources, as well as to "spread the word" regarding various service-based student groups in East Baltimore. Meet our team of students from the JHU Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health who are serving as representatives on SOURCE's Student Governing Board this past academic year. The following spots are typically available on SOURCE's Student Governing Board:
- JHSPH (2 student representatives from any program + 1-2 student representative from the MPH class)
- SON (2 student representatives from any program + 1-2 student representative from the accelerated class)
- SOM (Special Circumstance: The representatives on SOURCE's Student Governing Board are also the SOM's InterAction Council representatives. Each year, 2-3 new MSIs are selected to serve as SOURCE's Student Governing Board Members and InterAction Council representatives)
At the start of each academic school year, SOURCE announces all open positions on SOURCE's Student Governing Board. Students submit applications to SOURCE. These applications are reviewed by SOURCE's full Governing Board. Selected students will be invited to interview with SOURCE Governing Board members. After interviews are conducted, SOURCE's Governing Board will select the new student members of the board. Roles of SOURCE Student Governing Board Members (in pdf format)
