Function of Organization/ Site:

  • Improving the quality of life for educationally disadvantaged adults, families, and children.
  • Assisting people with basic reading, writing, math and employment skills necessary for economic stability and success.
  • Developing and implementing effective learning programs

Involvement Opportunities:

Adult Programs - Ripken Learning Center. Tutors are needed to help adult learners with basic skills, GED preparation, and job skills. Tutors work as instructional assistants in class and 1-on-1 with adult learners. Free tutor training provided.

Book Bank. Volunteers are needed to sort, sticker, and shelve new or gently uised children's books for teachers and nonprofits in the Baltimore area.
