Function of Organization/Site:

To build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke; focus on advocacy, fundraising for research, and raising awareness around cardiovascular events (heart disease remains the #1 cause of death in the U.S.)

We are:

  • Improving patient care
  • Advocating for better health
  • Reaching out to populations at risk
  • Raising awareness
  • Protecting the future

Involvement Opportunities:

  • Recess Baltimore
  • Heart Walks and Heart Galas (one of each in Howard County and Baltimore City): students can serve as event volunteers
  • Power Ambassadors: students are trained to speak in churches, represent AHA at health fairs, host some type of heart awareness event in the community
  • Internship Possibilities: Power to End Stroke communications intern, fundraising intern, GO Red Campaign intern. 


Volunteer Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • Fluent in English
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Evening shifts available
