From Despair to Health Care: A Talk by Paul Farmer
2005-2006 Hopkins Sommer Scholars

2005-2006 Hopkins Sommer Scholars

Hopkins Sommer Scholars receive full tuition and stipends for the duration of their academic programs. Each student pursues a curriculum that best meets his or her unique needs and interests. When they graduate, Hopkins Sommer Scholars become members of an elite, global network of leaders determined to make a difference in the world.

In addition to receiving a world-class education, Hopkins Sommer Scholars participate in The Leslie and Thomas DeRosa Leadership Program. This specially designed series of co-curricular activities develops the Scholars' personal skills, fosters collaboration and builds global contacts they can draw upon throughout their careers.

The Leslie and Thomas DeRosa Leadership Program includes:

  • Leadership development activities and presentations
  • Training in media relations, presentation skills, and conflict and crisis management
  • Study trips to Washington, D.C., and New York
  • Professional networking, internships and mentoring

Designed by Hopkins faculty members, this leadership program provides an enormous enrichment opportunity for each Scholar in his or her chosen field and beyond.
