Application

To be considered for a Sommer Scholarship, applicants must be admitted into a full-time doctoral program or the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

All applicants must begin by completing the application for admission by the deadline of the program for which they are applying. Please note that application deadlines vary by program and may be as early as December 1.

Those interested in the Hopkins Sommer Scholars program are invited to address one of the following questions in the personal statement on the application for admission:

- How have you taken advantage of the leadership development opportunities you have had, and how have they shaped you?
- What is the most significant achievement so far in your life?

Applicants are also invited, but not required, to request the individuals completing letters of recommendation to comment on the applicant's leadership potential and suitability as a Hopkins Sommer Scholar.  More details, including answers to frequently asked questions, are available at the FAQ page.
