SUBJECT: Student Assembly Student and Staff
Recognition Award
GENERAL
STATEMENT
This award is the only honor given
by the Student Body to acknowledge the special contributions of non-faculty
individuals. It offers the Student Body
the opportunity for peer evaluation of the contributions of other students and
also a means for expressing the gratitude of students for extraordinary
contributions of staff.
POLICY
This award shall be given to one
student and one staff member (defined as an employee of The Johns Hopkins
University, exclusive of faculty and fellows, who provide service to students
of the Bloomberg School of Public Health) who by virtue of their dedication and
selflessness have made a significant contribution to the students and have
improved the experience of those at the School of Public Health.
PROCEDURE
Any student and staff member of the
Bloomberg School of Public Health is eligible to receive the award.
Every year, the Student Assembly
will solicit nominations for both student and staff recipients of the award
from the Student Body. The recipients
will be chosen from the list of nominees by a secret vote among the Student
Assembly members.
The awards shall be presented at the
Convocation of the Bloomberg School of Public Health by the President of the
Student Assembly. The awardees shall
also have their names inscribed on the Award Plaque in the Student Lounge.
