SUBJECT: Policy Statement of Annual Johns
Hopkins Injury Prevention Center Award of Excellence
GENERAL
STATEMENT
The Johns Hopkins Injury Prevention
Center Award of Excellence was established in 1988 to recognize and honor one
or more individuals each year who have made substantial contributions to the
field of injury prevention.
POLICY
Eligibility for this award is not
restricted to students, faculty, or alumni of the Bloomberg School of Public
Health. Any person who has made
significant achievements in the prevention of injuries, whether through research,
policy formulation, advocacy, or other means, is eligible for the award.
PROCEDURE
Each year, the Director of The Johns
Hopkins Injury Prevention Center will appoint a committee consisting of the
Director and two other faculty members of the Center to choose a recipient of
the award. Nominations for the
recipients will be widely sought from knowledgeable people both within and
outside the University. The recipients
will be chosen by consensus of the committee.
