Health Advisory BoardPaul Diaz

PAUL DIAZ is currently president and chief executive officer of Kindred Healthcare, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest providers of health care services in the United States. Kindred is a New York Stock Exchange-listed company with revenues in excess of $4 billion.

Mr. Diaz joined Kindred in January 2002 as president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining Kindred, he was the managing member of Falcon Capital Partners, LLC, a private investment and consulting firm. From 1996 to July 1998, Mr. Diaz served in various executive capacities with Mariner Health Group, Inc. (Mariner Health), most recently as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining Mariner Health, Mr. Diaz was chief executive officer of Allegis Health Services, Inc.

Mr. Diaz is an attorney and accountant. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from American University’s Kogod School of Business and his law degree from Georgetown University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Davita (NYSE: DVA) and the Board of Visitors of Georgetown University Law Center. He was formerly on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of Suburban Hospital Healthcare Systems in Bethesda, Maryland.

In 2008, Modern Healthcare magazine named Mr. Diaz one of the Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare.  Additionally, he was cited as one of the Top 25 Best Latinos in Business by Hispanic magazine. In 2006 Hispanic Business magazine named Mr. Diaz one of the most influential Hispanics in the country. In 2007, the magazine also named Mr. Diaz to its “Corporate Elite” list as one of only four Hispanic chief executive officers of a Fortune 500 company.
