Health Advisory BoardMichael Bronfein

MICHAEL G. BRONFEIN is a managing partner of Sterling Partners, a private equity investment company founded in 1983 with a multi-product strategy focused on growth capital for innovative companies and middle market buyouts. The firm currently has fund commitments and assets under management exceeding $1.25 billion.

Mr. Bronfein is a co-founder and managing partner of Sterling Venture Partners (SVP), an expansion stage and growth equity venture capital fund focused on investing in health care services and information technology, business services, industrial services and education. SVP is sponsored by Sterling Partners.

Prior to joining Sterling Partners in 1999, Mr. Bronfein was the co-founder, chairman and chief executive officer of NeighborCare. Originally started as a single retail drugstore, NeighborCare evolved into the second-largest provider of integrated health care services to the long-term (nursing homes) and managed care industries in the United States, providing pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and supplies, and generating revenues in excess of $1 billion. Mr. Bronfein was the 1994 recipient of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his development of the business concept and model for NeighborCare. Prior to joining NeighborCare, Mr. Bronfein was a senior vice president responsible for commercial finance lending at Signet Banking Corporation. He is a 1976 graduate of the University of Baltimore with a bachelor of science in accounting and is a non-practicing certified public accountant.
