Welch Center Research in Progress seminar meets twice a month during the academic year and provides an opportunity for trainees to present their planned or ongoing research. Students receive early faculty feedback on research projects and gain confidence delivering research presentations. Master's and doctoral students in the clinical epidemiology and cardiovascular epidemiology concentrations are required to attend. PhD students in the Cardiovascular and Clinical Epidemiology Areas of Concentration are required to present their dissertation proposals at this seminar before their Departmental Oral Examination.

The Research-In-Progress seminar series provide an opportunity for trainees in the Cardiovascular and Clinical Epidemiology Areas of Concentration to present their research. The seminar predominantly focuses on presentations by students of planned or ongoing projects but may occasionally host presentations by faculty on topics related to career development and research skills.
 

The goal of the seminar is to provide a forum for students and fellows to present their planned or ongoing research and to obtain feedback from faculty and peers. The focus of the trainee seminars will be on issues related to the design of epidemiologic studies, data collection, statistical analysis, and drawing causal inferences from epidemiologic studies.*Master's and doctoral students in the clinical epidemiology and cardiovascular epidemiology concentrations are required to attend. PhD students in the Cardiovascular and Clinical Epidemiology Areas of Concentration are required to present their dissertation proposals at this seminar before their Departmental Oral Examination.
