Dr. Kuni Matsushita Wins AHA Poster Award

Dr. MatsushitaAssociate Welch Center Faculty member Dr. Kunihiro Matsushita has been selected by the American Heart Association as an Early Career poster winner for his submission to the AHA’s Scientific Sessions to be held in Dallas, TX, in November. Dr. Matsushita’s abstract, “The Association of Kidney Disease Measures With Left-Sided Cardiac Structure and Function: The Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study,” received the highest score among abstracts accepted as poster presentations under the rubric of “Cardiovascular Imaging submitted by an Early Career investigator.”

As a winner, Dr. Matsushita will receive a plaque; he will be highlighted on the Scientific Sessions website and the Wednesday edition of the Scientific Sessions Daily Newspaper; and he will be recognized as a poster winner in the Final Program. In addition, special signage will call attention to his poster on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, the day he will present it between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM at the “Echocardiography and Clinical Syndromes” Session.
