Welch Center Members Shine at Research Retreat

Faculty and trainees of the Welch Center garnered three awards at the Department of Medicine’s Research Retreat held Wednesday, April 20, 2011.
           

Welch Center Associate Director Ebony Boulware, MD, MPH, was presented with the Department of Medicine's David M. Levine Excellence in Mentoring Award.

Welch Center Associate Faculty member Diedra Crews, MD, ScM, FASN, won the Junior Faculty Clinical Research Award for her abstract, “Genetic Ancestry and Albuminuria Among African Americans: The Healthy Aging in Neighborhoods of Diversity Across the Life Span (HANDLS) Study.”

Trainee Jessie Kimbrough-Sugick, MD, MPH, also received the Fellow's Clinical Research Award for her abstract entitled, “Prospective Study on the Association of patient Navigation and Mammography Screening Among Urban African American Medicare Beneficiaries at Risk for Low Health Literacy”.Dr. Kimbrough-Sugick
