Welch Center trainee Rosemay Remigio-Baker, MPH, has won the 2011 Department of Epidemiology’s Charlotte Ferencz Award. The cash award supports students’ research that leads to their doctoral or master’s thesis, and is very competitive. Ms. Remigio-Baker’s work on depression was judged by the Honors and Awards Committee to bear on the field of maternal and child health epidemiology, which is the focus of the award. Ms. Remigio-Baker will be honored at the annual Honors and Awards Ceremony to be held in May.
The award was established in 2000 by Charlotte Ferencz, MD, MPH, formerly a faculty member in the School of Medicine who also earned her MPH degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
Congratulations to both Rosemay and to her mentor, Dr. Sherita Golden!
