Welch Center Core Faculty member Fred Brancati, MD, MHS, FACP, has just had another feather added to his cap. He has been elected to membership in the Association of American Physicians (AAP), a signal honor reserved for senior faculty members. The AAP was founded in 1885 by seven physicians, including Dr. William Osler, who is still counted among their members. According to the AAP, it recognizes individuals who have attained excellence in “the pursuit of medical knowledge, and the advancement through experimentation and discovery of basic and clinical science and their application to clinical medicine.”
Dr. Brancati is only the third Welch Center member to be so honored, after Neil Powe, MD, MPH, MBA, and Linda Fried, MD, MPH.
Congratulations to Dr. Brancati on his election to this august body of outstanding physicians!
