The Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit (JH-IIRU) takes advantage of its engagement in numerous projects across many low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) globally, and uses them as platforms to build capacity for injury prevention and control science. JH-IIRU faculty and team members are actively involved in hands-on training for their local collaborators on project design and implementation, data collection and analysis and dissemination of findings.

This collaborative approach has yielded some remarkable work including peer-reviewed publications. Some of this work is showcased in a special issue of the journal Traffic Injury Prevention, focusing on the work done in each of the RS-10 countries by JH-IIRU and our local collaborators.
