Mission

To promote a just, healthy, and trustworthy food system with Baltimore area faith communities.

Objectives

  • Serve as the premier voice on food and faith among Baltimore area faith communities and beyond.
  • Offer and/or take part in educational outreach events and trainings that improve individual knowledge of food system issues and increase self-efficacy to adopt sustainable food practices.
  • Build and strengthen congregational capacity to adopt sustainable food practices and to provide educational opportunities for members.
  • Create a dynamic food and faith network for partnering and exchanging information and insights on positive food system and policy change.

Using this Toolkit with your congregation’s leaders and members will enable you to take a broader look at the ways you eat and share food, and how these relate to earth stewardship, social and economic justice for farmers and farmworkers, farm animal welfare, and healthy food availability for others in your community.

Growing Faith with Food: A Summer Camp Curriculum for Kids Aged 5 to 11 Yearsimage

This interfaith curriculum consists of ten themed modules with a collection of prayers, songs, games, crafts, activities, and recipes meant to help teach children about the importance of caring for the environment, introduce them to cooking and enjoying healthy snacks and meals, and connect them to how our food is grown by giving them a chance to grow their own.
