The Johns Hopkins Training Program in Sexually Transmitted Infections (T32- AI050056) is a multidisciplinary grant to fund the training of predoctoral students interested in sexually transmitted disease research. Applicants for this training grant should:
1. Demonstrate an interest in sexually transmitted infections, through previous work experience, publication or research activity. Although many of our applicants have interests in HIV, a sole HIV focus is not sufficient as there are other mechanisms for this type of training.
2. Be doctoral students starting the second year of a doctoral program who have completed their initial course work.
3. Be in East Baltimore during the two-year funding period. There are a number of onsite activities which are integral to the STD training experience, including a monthly journal club, a seminar series and interaction with the faculty. Students with international projects may apply for funding after they have completed the international component of their work.
This funding opportunity is open only to students who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
