Vaccines play a crucial role in maintaining the public’s health, and their broad use is ensured by legal requirements. Center faculty have studied the effectiveness of vaccine requirements, and have analyzed the public health effects of religious and philosophical exemptions from these requirements. The Center has also examined the federal system that provides compensation for vaccine-related injuries or deaths.
