The Center empirically evaluates the effectiveness of laws to determine whether they promote and protect the public’s health. Center faculty study the effects of particular laws and regulations on the public’s health, in areas such as gun violence prevention and injury prevention. In addition, the Center analyzes emerging and innovative uses of law to protect the public’s health. Center faculty frequently work with policymakers to translate these findings into evidence-based policies.
