Dr. Hutfless is an Instructor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology within the Department of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. She is an epidemiologist with a special interest in using administrative data to answer important questions regarding the causes and treatments of chronic disease. She has previously worked on identifying cohorts and answering important clinical research questions using the resources of the Department of Defense.
Some research projects Dr. Hutfless has been involved with include Infectious-Related Triggers of Crohn's Disease in Susceptible Military Personnel as well as Maternal and Child Health Bureau Secondary Data Analysis: Prenatal and Early Life Predictors of Pediatric Onset Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Dr. Hutfless received her S.M. in epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health and received her PhD in epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
